The TherapyCyclePC is an arm or leg exerciser designed for use by individuals with upper or lower extremity disabilities, stroke,or cardiac disabilities. The cycle-style unit can be placed on a table for seated or standing upper extremity use or on the floor for lower extremity exercise. The unit features a digital display, hand/foot loops on the pedals, and tracking log software to enable user progress to be tracked. The unit tracks time, average and maximum speed, distance traveled, and calories burned. All data is tracked for forward, reverse, and combined use. Data is reported numerically or graphically. The unit uses magnetic resistance for smooth pedal motion and includes a set of standard and Velcro pedals. The unit also enables users to play personal computer (PC) games while exercising, with the pedal motion controlling the movement of the character in the game. Pedal forward to move forward and pedal backwards to move backwards. The character can be a person, a car, a bicycle, a boat, or anything else; it depends upon the game. For those who do not play games, the cycle can be used to explore three-dimensional online worlds alone or over the Internet. The unit connecst to a computer with the included USB cable.
