--- "DO IT YOURSELF" ENTRY ------- PURPOSE: Scanning communicator allows a nonverbal person to convey standard (fixed format) responses associated with a particular job, task or environment. Describes a communicator consisting of 2 DL 747 seven segment displays, one for the user, the other for the recipient of the message. Messages consist of 2 digit numbers that represent words or phrases. There is sound alert so the user can indicate the desire to convey a message. The single pole, double throw control switch can be tailored to each student's abilities.
