Deque Ramp Ascend is a Web site accessibility evaluation and repair tool designed to assist in making Web site accessible to individual with disabilities. This software checks sites for compliance against W3C-WCAG 1.0 and Section 508 standards. It combines robust algorithms with user input during the accessibility evaluation process. Users can configure the evaluation to suit an organization's accessibility policies and practices. Guided/automated remediation covers all violations including n-dimensional tables, forms, skip navigation, missing alt tags and SMIL captioning. It produces several reports for project supervisors and developers, including listings of individual violations as well as summaries across checkpoints/Section 508 rules. This software is accessible with JAWS For Windows (see entry) and has plug-ins for FrontPage, Dreamweaver and HomeSite.
