Sign Smith Reading Power is a reading tutorial and vocabulary enhancement program designed for use by students who are deaf or hard of hearing. It features animated SigningAvatar characters who use American Sign Language (ASL) to help students read and understand written English. The software includes story-telling, interactive ├┤conversation,├ and tools to build vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension (recognizing the main idea, sequence, and details). The program also includes teacher support materials, activities, a starter dictionary, and ideas for integrating technology into learning. COMPATIBILITY: For use on IBM and compatible computers.
