The Detroit Tests of Learning Aptitude-Primary, Third Edition (DTLA-P:3) is an assessment designed for use in evaluating individuals with learning disabilities or cognitive developmental disabilities. This individually administered measure of abilities and deficiencies comprises six subtests, measuring cognitive ability in areas such as language, attention, and motor abilities. It provides standard scores, percentile ranks, age equivalents, composite scores, a total score, and a general mental ability score, and can be used to identify children with learning disabilities and mental retardation. Subtests include Articulation, Conceptual Matching, Design Reproduction, Digit Sequences, Draw-A-Person, Letter Sequences, Motor Directions, Object Sequences, Oral Directions, Picture Fragments, Picture Identification, Sentence Imitation, and Symbolic Relations. The normative data have been stratified by age, geographic region, gender, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and parent education. A complete kit includes an examiner's manual, a picture book, 25 examiner record booklets, 25 response forms, and a sturdy storage box.
