The MedSMART Medication Management System is a pill organizer with alarm designed for use by seniors and individuals with cognitive or memory disabilities. This device is available as stand-alone unit or with optional reporting. Under the event reporting and notification option, device and compliance information is transmitted to a secure data center which allows caregivers and healthcare providers the ability to track compliance, proactively address dosing errors, ensure equipment functionality, and predict refill requirements. The circular tray has cells for organizing pills. The user or caregiver selects the appropriate template that corresponds with the dosage schedule and fills the tray accordingly. Once filled, the device is closed and placed on the docking base. The unit is programmable for up to six reminder alarms per day. At each reminder/alarm time, a flashing light and sound alert occurs, the medication tray will rotates, and the medication is made available. Tip the unit to dispense the pills and the device is ready to dispense the next dose at the scheduled time. The large digital display shows time, date, next alarm, and doses left. Other features include a secure, tamper-proof lock; an early dose button to enable medications to be taken while not at home (based upon individual needs, the early dose button may be closed to control misuse); and a portable pill box so pills that are dispensed early can be transported. POWER: Uses alternating current (AC) power when in the docking base and battery power when in transit or in the event of a power outage. OPTIONS: Additional dosing templates and reporting/notification service are available.
