MEM-X is a cognitive aid designed for use by individuals with cognitive dysfunction brought on by dementia, the early stages of Alzheimer's disease or stroke. The device is programmed by the caregiver using only the internal numeric keyboard. Date, time, repetition, and recorded message are set and reviewed from here. At the predetermined time, the device sounds a caregiver-selectable alarm. When the alarm sounds, the user, who wears the device on a lanyard, presses the large blue button and the message is played in the caregiver's voice. Up to 90 messages of 10 seconds duration can be stored and played back for up to three months without reprogramming. POWER: Uses one triple-A battery. WEIGHT: 2.27 ounces.
