Parent Education and Support Services is parent education intended to foster effective parenting skills and family communication including reducing conflict, problem solving, child growth and development, and self-esteem. The intent is to assist in the reduction of child abuse and substance abuse, juvenile delinquency, gang violence, learning disorders, behavior problems, and emotional disturbances. The program utilizes the Community Parent Education (COPE) evidence-based training model. The parents and/or caregivers commit to 10-weekly, two-hour classes. Child care is provided with age-appropriate activities.
