Transitions is a prevention program serving students transitioning from elementary school to middle school and those students transitioning from middle school to high school. The goals of this program include developing protective factors and creating resilience in these youth to better meet the new academic and social challenges and educate parents about these challenges and how they can assist their transitioning youth. Services include up to 13 classroom sessions that take place during a regular school period. These sessions are based on a curriculum that has been found to be successful in strengthening students' healthy coping skills, while reducing high risk behaviors. In addition, three educational meetings are available to the parents of these students during evening hours at the school.
